I'm happy for you that you are enjoying Provo. I loved being there as well. My mom even lived there in college, after having come to this country from Finland and spending some time (4-H Club) in Missouri to learn English.

One of my best memories was when my mother took the time to come visit me during my last year at the Y when I was living with Sister Nixon. She commented on how much it had changed, and after having seen some developments in places where I've lived, I can only begin to imagine.

One of my dreams is for my children to attend the school also and for me to be able to visit them someday. Who knows what could lie in the future.

That movie, "Pride and Prejudice" seemed to take place there.

I hope you can keep your magazine up--it is really great. Thank you for starting it.

Hey Jen and LDS Ladies Everywhere,

I wanted to say mainly to Jen... Provo is a great place to live no matter whether you're a student or not. I do agree I'd much rather live in a family ward-- there is something that is so great about the strength of children, youth, and also parents. I love it!
I moved to Provo for the first year I was married (99-2000) and then moved away to finish school in Hawaii (BYU-H). It was a great, and hard journey. One that I would love to share with more people oneday. We graduated from there, moved to Medford, Oregon where I live now... and have established ourselves here for the meanwhile.
Anwyay, the point of all of this, is that we are grads from BYUH (we actually found ourselves attending every BYU and then finally graduated together:) and returned this past Christmas to see for a short moment where we used to live in Provo. It was a neat thing to see how 'far' we had come since then! We now have a 2-yr old girl, and another girl on the way (I'm 6 months prego:) and we couldn't believe what a blessing it was to live in Provo.
Currently, I operate two businesses from home. One is a website that promotes modest fashion, and that's the other reason why I am writing in your blog, Jen. Is to tell you that my website, www.tropicalhulahut.com was created for women of all ages and sizes to find a wonderful sarong to wear with their swimsuit. I know that as a LDS woman, I found myself at times wearing a two-piece, and felt ashamed because of the way we have been told it's not appropriate. It took many years and also much personal strength to really believe my body was a temple and that I should treat it that way. On my website, it does show girls with bikinis on, but I am trying to make it present more of what I meant: that women everywhere can be modest in their fashion, expesically in the most exposed part of our time of the year- swimsuit time!
So, if you would like, I'd love for you, Jen, to promote my website in any way you'd like to. I am changing a lot about it right now, so that the idea comes across more clearly that I want women of every size- not only the beautiful, thin type, to wear a sarong to be more modest.
Sure love your website, and blog, and hope you'll visit mine sometime! I'm creating it right now, so it will be published from my website, www.tropicalhulahut.com.

Take Er' Easy! Enjoy Provo for me!
Julie Azares
